Ann Curry

Ann Curry, an American photographer and journalist who has reported on natural and war-related disasters for nearly 45 years. Her focus is on the suffering of those who live in these places. Curry was a reporter for the wars in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo, and Central African Republic. Ann Curry was an American journalist, reporter for the TV news as well as host. She is most known for her work as a reporter on the Today program, a daily morning news program aired on NBC. Curry is known for reporting emergencies and disasters that affect the human condition particularly in nations which have suffered the effects of conflict. Curry's mother is Japanese as is her father, who was an US Navy Sargent. Her father met the mother of her in Japan when he was a stationed there after World War II. In 1978, she graduated from her school at the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. Then, four years later, she relocated into Los Angeles and became a journalist at KCBS TV. Two Emmy Awards were won during the six years she worked for the KCBS-TV.
